Wild Card

I chose to do my wild card paper over the influencer Alix Earle, she has rapidly gained a huge following over the last 18 months. Alix was born in Monmouth County, New Jersey, she is the oldest of five children, to Thomas "TJ" Earle, a construction magnate in Wall Township, New Jersey, and Alisa Earle who is of Italian descent. Thomas Earle's construction company makes an estimated revenue of 24.1 million USD in revenue each year. Her parents are divorced, in October 2013, her father remarried Ashley Alexandra Dupré, five years after Dupré's involvement in the Eliot Spitzer prostitution scandal. Earle attended the University of Miami, where she graduated in May 2023 from the University of Miami Patti and Allan Herbert Business School with a degree in marketing. In August 2023, Earle endowed the Alix Earle Scholarship for students at the business school.


In the summer of 2022, Earle experienced an increase in her TikTok following due to acne resulting from an enlarged facial cyst. She was notified by her boss that she needed to upload a sponsored video to her TikTok. She first declined because of her acne but then changed her mind after realizing she could utilize her position to support others who were facing the same problem. Earle started sharing "Get Ready With Me" (GRWM) videos online after her acne video, in which she talked about her everyday life and showcased her cosmetic regimen. By the end of 2022, Earle had gained two million new TikTok fans as a result of the successful transition.


In February 2020, Earle, a freshman at the University of Miami, started posting on TikTok. In her very first video, she and her friends flaunted their trash-bag-made clothes. During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show in 2023, Earle said that her first goal was to live up to an idealized, flawless persona. "I had no notion where to begin. She ended her relationship with Oakland Athletics professional baseball player Tyler Wade in December 2022. Earle's TikTok fan base continued to grow, and by January 2023, she was referred to as the "It Girl" on the app. She gained more than two million new followers a few weeks following the split. In November 2023, Earle formally acknowledged her connection with Berrios, following their red carpet debut at the 2023 ESPY Awards, although adamantly stating that they were "not exclusive." A fan meets Earle at a Miami restaurant in a TikTok video that went viral in early May. Berrios was standing next to her; this was the first time the two had been seen together in public.Earle narrated the events in a video that she uploaded to TikTok. She hugged a man at the start of the TikTok, but his face was hidden. Once again, fans discussed Berrios in the comments section, and Earle acknowledged their friendship. Alix, do you have a boyfriend?” Alex Cooper asked the TikTok star. To which Earle, who was smiling from ear to ear, replied: “I mean … yes." 


Earle was named as one of the initial two content partners of Alexandra Cooper's talent network, The Unwell Network, in August 2023. In summary, in 2022 Alix Earle became well-known after disclosing her experiences with cystic acne. With the debut of "Hot Mess With Alix Earle" last month, Earle's enormous combined following of over 8.9 million on TikTok and Instagram led to a position on "Call Her Daddy" podcast mogul Alex Cooper's Unwell Network.
